Triangle Quantum Computing Seminar Series: High fidelity non-adiabatic (fast) two qubit gates in experimentally realizable regimes

Speaker

Ricardo Viteri, Staff Physicist, Ionq

ABSTRACT: Previous theoretical proposals to run faster gates based on state dependent kicks (SDKs) were limited to ultrafast regimes that are pretty much impossible to implement with currently available photonics technology. I will present: 1) new strategies to implement high fidelity state dependent kicks that are compatible with existing fast laser controls, 2) preliminary experimental characterization of laser pulse waveforms needed to implement high fidelity SDKs, and 3) two-qubit gates designs for entanglement rates of 100s of kHz in chains up to 40 ions while maintaining the all-to-all connectivity advantage. --- The Duke Quantum Center, the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at NC State, and the UNC Kenan-Flagler's Rethinc. Labs are pleased to present the Fall 2025 Semester Triangle Quantum Computing Seminar series.
